Job Summary:

The Instructional Technologist is responsible for overseeing the development and integration of digital learning and corresponding
technologies in support of teaching and learning. The position supports digital learning and education by actively researching educational technology trends and developments, providing ongoing professional learning opportunities for faculty members, and making recommendations consistent with the school’s mission and overall academic goals.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Education Technology, Instructional Technology, Information Technology or related field
  • 1-3 years of experience in Educational Technology, Instructional Technology or related field

Essential Functions:

Complete multiple simultaneous customer requests related to digital education while providing user support and excellent customer service to streamline business processes and realize efficiencies.
  •  Respond to support requests through email, phone, and   ticket system
  •  Support faculty in the delivery of online and blended   courses consistent using current technology tools
  •  Attend and participate in meetings and team activities
  •  Identify key technologies to support innovative pedagogy
Provides technical development and delivery of curriculum and services using the learning management system (LMS)
  •  Assists with support, documentation, and training for   educational technologies
  •  Support other related events at the college
  •  Researching and recommending new and emerging   educational technologies
Work directly with faculty of all disciplines on technology enhanced
course design and supported educational technologies. Support faculty and Digital Education team in the design and delivery of
technology-enhanced educational content
  •  Run web-based or in person orientations/training sessions
  •  Consult with faculty and staff about educational technology   or video production needs identify innovative pedagogy and   technology solutions during faculty consultations, helping   determine which technology tool is most appropriate for   faculty needs
  •  Set-up and break down production camera, lighting, and audio equipment.
  •  Assist with setup, operation, and editing of multimedia   production tools including the small-scale video pre-   production planning, onsite production, and post-production   activities for video.

    • Typical eligibility requirements: 1 year of service and 1,000 hours with Marist College.
  • 403(b) Tax Deferred Annuity – Roth option available. Voluntary, up to IRS maximum contribution.
  • Tuition Benefits:
    • Up to 16 undergraduate credits per semester. Up to 18 graduate credit per academic calendar. Eligibility extends to employee, spouse, and dependent children under age 26.
    • College pays 100% tuition only.
    • Eligible dependents may be Reimbursed up to $2,000 per semester towards tuition at another accredited institution.

*Eligibility requirements including waiting periods and/or employee probationary periods may apply at the discretion of the College.

Information Technology (IT) offers students, faculty, and staff
